On a whim in 2006, Rita Goodroe started a local singles group at Meetup.com. It ultimately grew to over 4000 members. During this time she met a new guy and dated for 5 years, but the relationship didn’t work out. Refusing to give up on her search for love, Rita then decided to go on 35 dates in 35 days…at age 35!
Fast-forward to present day, Rita is now happily married. Her past dating experience lead her to leave her career in Law and become a dating and relationship coach. In Episode 14 of the Fundamental Escape Podcast, Mark and I talk with Rita about how social media and texting affects dating…and how it has evolved in the past 10 years. We also went deeper to uncover some problems that often arise when people enter a dating world with radically different values from how they were raised, especially in the religious sense.
Rita offers some great feedback on the tradition of American marriage, and the fundamental flaws that may lead to high divorce rates. She also explains her “new car analogy”, and the law of attraction for game players.
